On this tour you will enjoy of a scenic drive from the San Jose area to the Central Pacific Region of Costa Rica, until you reach the famous and green Monteverde Cloud Forest area, nestled at 1,600 meters above sea level (4,800 feet). On the way there we make a few fun stops for you to experience some of our culture, like stopping at the largest fruit stands in all Costa Rica for you to learn about the different varieties of fruits we have in our country; we also stop in a place where we normally see lots of white faced capuchin monkeys, among other stops to take pictures & search for other forms of wildlife. Once we get to Monteverde, we’ll take you to do the famous Monteverde Hanging Bridges at Selvatura Park, where you will have the unique opportunity to observe the Cloud Forest from the
top of the bridges, as well as from the bottom on the different ground trails. Your guide will show you many aspects about the flora and fauna of this unique ecosystem, including the amazing hummingbird’s Gallery. The distinctive weather conditions of the Monteverde Cloud Forest make it suitable for thousands of plants (over 2500 species) and animals (more than 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds and tens of thousands of insect species), many of them not found anywhere else on Earth.
* For those who are afraid of heights and would prefer to visit one of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve with ground trails only, we can include a walk at the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve instead of the visit to the hanging bridges.
