Our Poas Volcano & La Paz Waterfall Gardens tour will take you to the beautiful mountains of the Central Volcanic Mountain Range, where you would have the opportunity to visit an active volcano at the Poas Volcano National Park, the most visited of Costa Rica. In this park you can walk all the way to the edge of the crater, where is very common to see volcanic activity (weather permitted). Here you could also hike to the impressive Bottos Lagoon, an extinct ancient volcano crater with a huge lagoon in the middle surrounded by lush cloud forest. After your visit to the Poas Volcano National Park, we would take you to the La Paz Waterfall Gardens Park, the most visited privately owned attraction in all Costa Rica. At La Paz, you would have the chance to observe more than 100 species of wildlife native to Costa Rica, at their impressive animal rescue center. This rescue center features the largest butterfly observatory in all Central America; a jungle cats’ exhibit that includes big cats like jaguars; a snake exhibit; a birds exhibit with more than 40 species of birds where you could hold toucans in your arms; a hummingbird’s natural sanctuary; a monkeys’ exhibit; and very beautiful gardens with tropical plants everywhere you look. At this park you would also do a short rainforest hike, most of it down the hill, where you would be able to observe 4 gorgeous waterfalls immersed in the rainforest.
