Enjoy many fun activities of Costa Rica on this Miravalles Volcano Tour. Your trip starts in the morning when you get picked up from your hotel, and then you will travel to the Guanacaste Volcanic Mountain Range, where most of the Miravalles Volcano Tour takes place. On the way to Miravalles, you will enjoy a scenic drive, with views of volcanoes, rivers, mountains, farms, and local towns. Stop on route at the famous “Llanos del Cortes Waterfall”, where you will be able to observe one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Costa Rica, as well as going for a swim if you wish.
Upon arrival at the Miravalles welcome center, go on a horseback riding tour that will take you to the rainforest, while you enjoy views of beautiful landscapes and the bright-green jungle’s vegetation. This horseback ride will also take you to the next activity’s starting point, the rainforest hike. Continue your tour by walking on a hanging bridge, from where you will have views of a nice waterfall; and then go on a hike in the rainforest for about 30 minutes, where you will have the chance to observe the amazing jungle vegetation and search for the local wildlife. On this hike, you will also be able to observe 2 more waterfalls along the trail.
Hop on your horse after the hike, and start your journey back to the welcome center, where you will get ready to explore an active volcano crater, the best activity of this Miravalles Volcano Tour in most travelers’ opinion. Walk inside of an active living crater with your guide, where you will be able to observe bubbling water, mud pots, colorful mineral deposits and you will also be able to feel the steam coming out of the ground, this is a once in a lifetime experience.
After the walk in the crater, a delicious typical lunch will be served. Then, experience a natural sauna treatment in a room that is fed by a fumarole from the volcano’s interior, followed by an authentic mud bath that is done in the volcano’s crater, this is the most natural mud bath-treatment you can get, directly from the activity of the Earth. Afterwards, relax in the thermal mineral hot springs of Miravalles Volcano, the perfect way to finish your visit to this beautiful place. At the end of the day, you will be taken back to your Guanacaste area hotel.
