Learn everything about the process of coffee at “Hacienda Alsacia”, the first farm owned by Starbucks Coffee, which is also the most important coffee research center in the world.

At this farm scientists are constantly creating new varieties of coffee that are resistant to the newer and stronger diseases that affect the plants, and they donate many of their findings to local and international coffee farmers around the world, who have lost their harvests for different reasons. This farm is also dedicated to the production of high quality coffee, the rich volcanic soil of this area produces some of the best coffee in the world.

Walk around this plantation with a local expert guide, who will show you how coffee plants are grown, as well as the process of harvesting the “golden bean”, name given by Costa Ricans to the coffee beans.
