Discover the active crater of Poas Volcano National Park, one of the biggest in the world. Poas Volcano is one the most active volcanoes in Costa Rica, here you will be able to take a short hike to see its impressive crater, and to admire the biodiversity of the flora and fauna of its Cloud Forest.
Continue your tour to La Paz Waterfall Gardens Park, one of the most visited attractions in Costa Rica. Hike on trails immersed in the rainforest jungles near Poas Volcano National Park and admire some of the most beautiful waterfalls of Costa Rica. This hike takes about 1.5 hours and it’s done mostly down the hill and on flat terrain. An amazing buffet-style lunch will be provided during your adventure.
At La Paz you will also have the chance to learn about wild animals of Costa Rica at their animal rescue center, where they have a huge exhibit with more than 100 species native to Costa Rica, including wild cats like Jaguars, Ocelots, and Pumas; lots of birds like scarlet macaws, parrots, and the toucans’ exhibit, one of the highlights of this trip because the toucans literally fly right above your head.
Here you will also be able to see the hummingbirds’ gallery which is one of the most beautiful of the country; the snakes’ exhibit with lots of native species; the monkey’s exhibit with 3 of the 4 native species of the country; the colorful frogs exhibit; and the huge butterfly Garden, which is one of the biggest of the country as well.
