This one is probably the Arenal Volcano tour you were looking for and couldn’t find anywhere on your internet search. Most of the tours from San Jose to the Arenal Volcano area just offer a visit to the Sarchi Oxcart Factory and the usual visit to the hot springs, but this Arenal Volcano Mega Combo Tour will really show you several beauties of Costa Rica in one single day.
On this tour, you will go along the less-traveled “scenic route”, where you will visit a coffee plantation and do a “mini coffee tour”, which includes degustation of our delicious Costa Rican coffee and typical snacks. You will also visit the famous La Paz Waterfall and the San Fernando Waterfall; a tropical bird’s observation point and the famous “iguana bridge”, where you will have the chance to see lots of iguanas. During this beautiful ride, you could also stop in places where we see sloths, monkeys and other forms of wildlife.
Once in Arenal, you will savor an authentic Costa Rican lunch in our favorite restaurant in town, and after lunch, you will experience a Zip Lining Adventure that includes a total of 9 zip line cables immersed in a beautiful rainforest jungle, a 50 meters rappel (150 feet) right on the Arenal River and a Maleku Indigenous Tribe Presentation done by real Maleku People, where you will learn a little bit about our native’s culture.
Then, continue your tour by resting and relaxing for a couple of hours at the hot springs; a series of hot springs’ pools with mineral waters naturally heated by the volcano, located right at the base of the mountain and surrounded by the most beautiful tropical gardens. At the end of the day, you will have a delicious dinner on the way back to San Jose.
Special Notes:
Drop off in the Arenal-La Fortuna hotels is available. Please note that if you choose this option, dinner will not be included in your tour because it’s done in a restaurant on the way back to San Jose. Also, there is an extra charge for drop-offs with luggage, but in the case of this tour, it doesn’t apply because the cost of the dinner will cover the drop-off charge. If you wish to take this option, you must let us know at the time of booking.
This tour includes man-made hot springs pools, filled with natural thermal waters that come from underneath the volcano (all of the hot springs in the Arenal Volcano area are man-made pools).
At the coffee plantation, you will go to see the coffee plants and will receive a briefing about the history of coffee in Costa Rica, but we do not go into a processing plant because there is not enough time in order to do the rest of the activities.
